Nearly a year before welcoming her first child<\/a>, Lady Gaga said giving her future kids a \u201csafe and happy childhood\u201d would become her \u201cNo. 1 priority\u201d \u2014 even above her music and acting career.<\/p>\n

During a July 2025 appearance on \u201cThe Howard Stern Show,\u201d<\/a> the longtime shock jock predicted that Gaga would go \u201call-in\u201d on family time once she became a mom.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re actually right on the money with that,\u201d the singer, 40, agreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just really want them to have a very safe and happy childhood, so you\u2019re not wrong that that will become my No. 1 priority,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

However, fans should not expect a total vanishing act from \u201cThe Fame\u201d singer. <\/p>\n

When Stern asked whether she planned to step back from the spotlight after having a baby, Gaga wasn\u2019t ready to make any promises.<\/p>\n

\u201cDisappear? I don\u2019t think so,\u201d she said, before acknowledging that she\u2019d have to see what her life looked like once she became a mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also have to see what it\u2019s like and what our kid needs, you know?\u201d she told Stern last year. <\/p>\n

Page Six exclusively broke the news last week that the singer, 40, had quietly welcomed a child with her fianc\u00e9, Michael Polansky, 42. <\/p>\n

The three made their public debut<\/a> as a family last week, after being spotted in northern California, where Polansky is from<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair were first linked in 2020 after they were photographed kissing at a New Year\u2019s Eve party in Las Vegas. Gaga confirmed their engagement in July 2024 while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n

The singer spoke about her hope to welcome children multiple times over the last few years. <\/p>\n

In March 2025, Gaga told the New York Times<\/a> that that she\u2019s \u201cexcited to be a mom,\u201d but also that she \u201cused to have a lot of apprehension about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November 2025, she divulged to Rolling Stone<\/a>, \u201cBeing a mom is the thing I want the most.\u201d In that same interview, she also said Polansky was \u201cgonna be a beautiful father\u201d and that they both were \u201creally excited\u201d about starting a family together.<\/p>\n
