COMMERCE CITY, Colo.\u00a0\u2014 The Colorado Rapids announced today that Rapids\u00a02 midfielder\u00a0Nathan Tchoumba\u00a0was named to\u00a0U.S. U-17 Men\u2019s National Team for their upcoming international training camp in San Pedro del\u00a0Pinatar, Spain\u00a0from September 21 to October 4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tchoumba, 15,\u00a0will join the U-17 squad\u00a0under\u00a0Head\u00a0Coach\u00a0Jeremy\u00a0Hall\u00a0for\u00a0a series of four international\u00a0friendlies.\u00a0The team will open the camp against Scotland on September 26, followed by matches against the Netherlands on September 29, Belgium on October 1, and France on October 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The midfielder has earned multiple call-ups to\u00a0represent\u00a0the United States at the youth international level,\u00a0participating\u00a0in training camps and international friendlies with the U-15 and U-16 sides, as well as the Concacaf Under-15 Championship. This marks Tchoumba\u2019s first call-up to the U.S. U-17 side under Hall. Most recently,\u00a0Tchoumba\u00a0was selected for the U-16 side\u2019s domestic training camp in February.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Aurora, Colorado, born midfielder has made an impact in his first season as a professional\u00a0across all levels of the club.\u00a0After impressing early in the year, Tchoumba made his First Team debut on April 14,\u00a02026,\u00a0in the club\u2019s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Union Omaha. His appearance made him the youngest player in Rapids history to do so\u00a0at 15 years and\u00a0141 days\u00a0old.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After becoming the youngest player to sign with Rapids 2 on January 16, 2026,\u00a0Tchoumba\u00a0has\u00a0established\u00a0himself as a key contributor for the second team this season.\u00a0Since making his professional debut on March 1,\u00a0Tchoumba\u00a0has\u00a0started 17 of his 21 appearances, logging\u00a01,235\u00a0minutes\u00a0and\u00a0recording the first professional assist of his career.
