{"id":850943,"date":"2026-09-17T12:32:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T12:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/850943\/"},"modified":"2026-09-17T12:32:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T12:32:09","slug":"stv-studios-ups-stake-in-two-cities-television-to-75","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/850943\/","title":{"rendered":"STV Studios Ups Stake In Two Cities Television To 75%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/stv\/\" id=\"auto-tag_stv\" data-tag=\"stv\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">STV<\/a> Studios has once again upped its stake in <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/patrick-melrose\/\" id=\"auto-tag_patrick-melrose\" data-tag=\"patrick-melrose\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Patrick Melrose<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/blue-lights\/\" id=\"auto-tag_blue-lights\" data-tag=\"blue-lights\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blue Lights<\/a> producer Two Cities Television. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Scottish production giant has shifted its ownership from 51% to 75%, according to a recent Companies House filing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSTV, which owns Criminal Record maker <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/stv-studios\/\" id=\"auto-tag_stv-studios\" data-tag=\"stv-studios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">STV Studios<\/a>, confirmed the move. \u201cAs was the plan from the point we moved to a majority holding of Two Cities Television in early 2024, our intention has been to continue to increase our stake as the label grows,\u201d said a spokeswoman. \u201cThe company continues to go from strength to strength and, accordingly our stake has increased to 75%.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSTV <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/01\/two-cities-sells-stake-to-stv-productions-bbc-studios-exits-1202824312\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first took a minority stake<\/a> in Two Cities in 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/03\/stv-results-rumpus-media-two-cities-television-deals-1236323030\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">before increasing this to 51% <\/a>in 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe latest adjustment solidifies STV\u2019s backing for Two Cities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRun by Michael Jackson and Stephen Wright, Two Cities, which is based out of London and New York, has been on something of a roll of late delivering regular seasons of police procedural Blue Lights for the BBC along with limited series like Sky\u2019s Amadeus. Upcoming it has Channel 4 and Canal+\u2019s Army of Shadows from Day of the Jackal showrunner Ronan Bennett, along with an RT\u00c9 series starring Star Trek icon Kate Mulgrew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/two-cities-bosses-on-army-of-shadows-backrooms-ip-the-yank-1236970967\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Speaking to Deadline several weeks back<\/a>, Jackson said the indie\u2019s strategy is to keep the plates spinning with one or two returners while simultaneously seeking interesting IP for limited series. \u201cOne helps keep the operation going and gives you the run room to develop the other,\u201d said Jackson, a former BBC One and Channel 4 boss. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSTV Studios has stakes in drama indies including Frank Spotnitz\u2019s Man in the High Castle producer Big Light and Criminal Record maker Tod Productions.
