Angie Hardison is once again expanding her local fitness empire, this time to Henrico.<\/p>\n

Hardison is set to open the second location of her Re+forme Lagree + Pilates next month at 7019 F Three Chopt Road in the Village Shopping Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Re+forme Lagree + Pilates (styled by Hardison as re+forme) features a combination of Pilates and Lagree, a high-intensity, low-impact workout method that fuses Pilates, yoga and bodybuilding techniques.<\/p>\n

The new 1,500-square-foot studio marks the fourth entry in Hardison\u2019s local fitness portfolio.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hardison opened the first Re+forme last year<\/a> at 1320 W. Cary St. in the Fan. She also owns Hot Yoga Barre and its two locations at 1601 Willow Lawn Drive and 2061 Huguenot Road in Midlothian, which opened in 2015 and 2019, respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hardison told BizSense in an email Thursday that she felt the Village Shopping Center\u2019s \u201ccommunity-oriented character,\u201d as well as its proximity to the University of Richmond aligned well with what she was trying to achieve with a second location. She noted that the new location will have 12 machines, similar to her existing Re+forme in the Fan. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe love being in the Fan, and that studio will remain an important part of (re+forme.) At the same time, we know that location and parking can influence how consistently someone is able to incorporate a workout into a busy schedule,\u201d Hardison said. \u201cThe Village allows us to offer the same experience in a setting that may be more convenient for a different part of our community and with a giant parking lot out front and in the rear.\u201d<\/p>\n

M.L. Bell Construction is handling the buildout of the new space, while Hardison designed the interior. Construction began last month while fitness equipment is slated to arrive by late September, in anticipation of the projected October opening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve personally overseen the design of each of my four studios, including the physical layouts, finishes, lighting, and overall client experience. \u2026 Clients should recognize the (re+forme) brand as soon as they walk through the door with our signature pink lights,\u201d Hardison said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thalhimer\u2019s Annie O\u2019Connor represented Re+forme in its lease, while Thalhimer\u2019s Jim Ashby represented Regency Centers, which owns the shopping center.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hardison declined to comment on exactly how much is being invested into getting the second location off of the ground, but noted the expansion is entirely self-funded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Re+forme offers three different types of classes: Re+forme Method, focusing on Pilates-based movements, Re+forme Lagree, a classic Lagree class using slow, resistance-based movement and Re+Set, blending yoga-inspired stretching and mobility work.<\/p>\n

Membership options for Re+forme start at $130 for a four-class monthly membership. An eight class monthly membership is $225 and an unlimited class monthly membership is $350. Members can take classes at either location.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Re+forme will offer around 100 classes per week across its two locations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hardison said the new location will be staffed with existing Re+forme trainers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hardison added that while she would love to continue to expand the Re+forme brand, she\u2019s in no hurry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201c(Whatever) growth happens will be thoughtfully planned. We will continue to explore opportunities, but we will not expand simply for the sake of adding locations,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the regional fitness scene, Pilates studio Jetset is slated to take over a recently shuttered<\/a> Row House gym in Winterfield Crossing, while an indoor climbing gym<\/a> is preparing to open at 2300 N. Lombardy St.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
