President Trump once again called on Senate Republicans to get rid of the filibuster, warning that if they don’t, Democrats will if they win the majority in November. <\/p>\n

“If they ever got into power, they will terminate the filibuster,” Trump said of Senate Democrats.<\/p>\n

The president also said Democrats will “immediately” name D.C. and Puerto Rico as states, saying, “That gives them four more senators. That gives them lots of other things, like 12 congressmen.” Trump also warned that the party would try to pack the court, telling reporters, “They want to have ideally 21 Supreme Court justices.” <\/p>\n

“They will have everything they ever dreamed of, and frankly, Republicans should terminate the filibuster because if you don\u2019t do it, they\u2019re going to do it, and you can\u2019t let that happen,” Trump said. <\/p>\n

Trump’s mention of packing the Supreme Court comes after all but one House Democrat voted against a proposed constitutional amendment <\/a>that would lock the amount of justices at nine. <\/p>\n
