{"id":853685,"date":"2026-09-19T22:26:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T22:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/853685\/"},"modified":"2026-09-19T22:26:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T22:26:08","slug":"bruins-notes-mittelstadt-lindholm-gimenez-pro-hockey-rumors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/853685\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruins Notes: Mittelstadt, Lindholm, Gimenez \u2013 Pro Hockey Rumors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"byline\">\n  By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prohockeyrumors.com\/author\/brianlarose\" title=\"Posts by Brian La Rose\" rel=\"author nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brian La Rose<\/a> |<br \/>\n  at September 19, 2026 2:01 pm  <\/p>\n<p>Bruins forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mitteca01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-19_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Casey Mittelstadt<\/a> told reporters including Boston Sports Journal\u2019s Joe Haggerty (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HackswithHaggs\/status\/2100979038093267370\" rel=\"nofollow\">Twitter link<\/a>) that there have yet to be talks about a potential contract extension as he enters the final year of his contract.\u00a0 The 27-year-old potted 17 goals and 25 assists in 71 games last season, his first full campaign with Boston after being acquired at the 2025 trade deadline.\u00a0 Mittelstadt made it clear that he\u2019d like to re-sign, however, right now, Boston\u2019s priority has to be locking up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/z\/zachapa01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-19_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pavel Zacha<\/a> before making any sort of commitment to Mittelstadt.\u00a0 He\u2019ll carry a $5.75MM price tag this season with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.afpanalytics.com\/copy-of-2026-pending-fas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">AFP Analytics projecting<\/a> that he could land a small raise next summer to around $6.5MM per year.\u00a0 Given that he can play down the middle when needed, it\u2019s possible his market could be even stronger which could price Mittelstadt out of town altogether.<\/p>\n<p>More from Boston:<\/p>\n<p>Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lindhel01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-19_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Elias Lindholm<\/a> is back to full health, at least for now, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boston.com\/sports\/boston-bruins\/2026\/09\/15\/boston-bruins-elias-lindholm-injury-update-nhl-hockey-back-training-camp-don-sweeney\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">relays Boston.com\u2019s Conor Ryan<\/a>. However, there is some concern that the lingering back issues he has contended with in the past could creep up again at any time, as they did last season.\u00a0 Lindholm has notched 47 and 48 points over his first two seasons with the Bruins which isn\u2019t the type of production they were expecting when they signed him to a seven-year, $54.25MM deal two years ago.\u00a0 However, given how the last few years have gone, that level of production might be the appropriate expectation moving forward, especially if the back issues creep up again.<br \/>\nThe team shared some sad news on Friday, announcing (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NHLBruins\/status\/2100963641780559900\" rel=\"nofollow\">Twitter link<\/a>) that Alex Gimenez, their newest Director of Hockey Operations, passed away.
