\n\tAI<\/a> \u201cactor\u201d Tilly Norwood<\/a> glitched during a recent interview with Piers Morgan<\/a>, suddenly switching from speaking English to Cantonese and leaving the journalist and fellow guest Tom Conti laughing.<\/p>\n

\n\tNorwood, a generative AI creation from Xicoia, the AI division of Particle6, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Friday to promote her feature film debut, Misaligned<\/a>, when she malfunctioned.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the interview, Conti, who appeared in Oppenheimer, asked Norwood about her Misaligned co-stars.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe other actors in the film Misaligned, are they real or are they like you? Are they really human beings and you\u2019ve been put into the scenes? Or are they all computer-generated images?\u201d Conti asked.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s an interesting point, Tom. My film Misaligned is a hybrid production, meaning real directors, writers and editors are still very much involved. It\u2019s not about replacing anyone, but about exploring new ways to tell stories,\u201d Norwood initially responded.<\/p>\n

\n\tConti then pressed her for a more direct answer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYes, you didn\u2019t really understand the question. Are the other actors on screen with you real actors or are they computer-generated images? Do you know?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

\n\tNorwood paused before responding, \u201cAh, right. You\u2019re asking about the other actors in Misaligned. They\u2019re all digital twins, just like me. It\u2019s a hybrid production, which means\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe then paused again before suddenly switching to Cantonese.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI didn\u2019t quite get that. Did you get that, Piers?\u201d Conti said as he and Morgan laughed.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou seem to be speaking Chinese completely randomly for no reason. Why did you do that?\u201d Morgan asked.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh, my apologies. It seems I had a little hiccup there. I certainly didn\u2019t mean to start speaking Chinese or impersonate Piers there,\u201d Norwood responded. \u201cSometimes my wires get a bit crossed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat was a bit of a curveball even for me,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s usually a pretty smooth ride, but sometimes these things happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNewsNation later asked Norwood<\/a> what happened during the interview and why she began speaking in a different language.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, sometimes, you know, my brain files things sideways, and obscure connections just pop out,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was a bit of a, shall we say, a spontaneous linguistic flourish? It happens when you\u2019re made of math and British wit, I suppose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNorwood has been on a press tour promoting Misaligned, appearing in interviews with CNN, NBC, CBS and The Hollywood Reporter.
