An 88-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after crashing the vehicle he was driving into a building, according to the Fremont police department.<\/p>\n
At around 12:12 p.m., police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the Niles Boulevard and Cinematic Common area, near Mission Boulevard.<\/p>\n
When authorities arrived at the scene, they located the unresponsive driver, officers said in a news release. The driver was taken to a local trauma center, where he later died from his injuries, officials said.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver was the only person in the vehicle. No bystanders were injured, according to the release<\/p>\n
Officers said the collision is still under investigation, but \u201cspeed has not been ruled out.\u201d It is unclear whether the driver\u2019s health or any pre-existing medical conditions may have contributed to the collision, according to police.<\/p>\n
This is Fremont\u2019s ninth fatal traffic collision this year.<\/p>\n
