Frankie Muniz took to Instagram Saturday with a wholesome family-themed upload after admitting he\u2019d hit \u201crock bottom\u201d<\/a> in a previous post.<\/p>\n

In a pair of goofy snapshots<\/a> taken in Scottsdale, Arizona, he sat in the front seat of a vehicle alongside estranged wife Paige Price, with their son Mauz, 5, happily seated in the back.<\/p>\n

\u201cPost soccer shenanigans with the fam,\u201d the \u201cMalcolm in the Middle\u201d alum, 40, captioned the post on Saturday. <\/p>\n

The proud father added, \u201cOur little dude got a medal for excellence in sportsmanship!\u201d <\/p>\n

Just a day earlier, the former child actor took to the same platform to lament a \u201cnightmare\u201d he said he was living. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe last 6 weeks of my life have been a nightmare I\u2019m praying to wake up from,\u201d he wrote alongside a thoughtful pic of himself seated on a couch. <\/p>\n

He added, \u201cEverything [has] felt heavy, unclear, and like it was falling apart at the same time. I wouldn\u2019t wish this season on anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muniz reflected on having \u201chad time to sit with myself, do real self-reflection, and finally see the areas of my life that need work if I want to become a better version of me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve read that sometimes hitting rock bottom is the thing that wakes you up,\u201d he continued, noting that \u201cIt forces the changes you needed to make all along so you can live the best life possible.\u201d <\/p>\n

Muniz went on, asserting that he believed in five years he\u2019d \u201cfeel grateful\u201d for the experience in retrospect \u201cbecause the high I\u2019ll be standing on then only exists because I went through this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muniz wrote that he was prepared to begin the \u201cuncomfortable, unglamorous, necessary work\u201d on himself going forward and to \u201ctreat this season as the foundation, not the finish line.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re in a low place right now too, you\u2019re not broken,\u201d he concluded. \u201cYou\u2019re being rebuilt. Let\u2019s keep going!\u201d<\/p>\n

Though the upload finished on an upbeat note, it sparked concern among fans, with one person in the comments thread encouraging the actor \u2014 who is now a race car driver \u2014 to \u201cask for, and accept help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Price, 33, took to her own Instagram with what appeared to be a cryptic response<\/a>, writing, \u201cLife is all about perspective. If you ask the grass, the zebra is the monster and the lion is the protector.\u201d<\/p>\n

She included a calming video of herself creating a wax seal. <\/p>\n

Muniz followed up his post on Saturday morning with an unexpected video about tire safety<\/a> before sharing the post about his outing with Price and Mauz.<\/p>\n

In July, the actor posted and deleted<\/a> a lighthearted divorce announcement via social media, stating, \u201cFollowing a period of separation that we kept private, Paige and I have decided to move forward with ending our marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

A video of the family of three dancing together \u2014 and the affectionate nature of the announcement, which promised they\u2019d continue to co-parent with \u201ca deep friendship\u201d \u2014 caught the ire of some netizens, who criticized the upbeat post.<\/p>\n

Price defended her estranged husband<\/a> in the comments thread, writing, \u201cFrankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old funny video of our family because people are so cruel to you. This world is so f\u2013ked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muniz and Price eloped in October 2019 and later tied the knot in a wedding in Phoenix, Arizona, in February 2020.<\/p>\n
