Hawk reportedly shot off power line in Cape Coral under investigation, FWC says<\/p>\n

\"Nicole<\/a>CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

Authorities are investigating the reported shooting of a hawk that was perched on a power line in Cape Coral. <\/p>\n

A neighbor who spoke to Gulf Coast News off-camera said the hawk frequently visited the neighborhood and was on the power line when it was shot, falling straight into an empty lot. <\/p>\n

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed it is actively investigating the incident, which occurred on NE 11th Lane. A neighbor said they saw FWC officials investigating the scene. <\/p>\n

FWC also stated that the hawk is currently with the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife as part of the investigation. <\/p>\n

CROW could not provide an update on the hawk\u2019s condition due to the ongoing investigation. <\/p>\n

Further information from FWC is pending.<\/p>\n
