(KOLN) &#8211; The Nebraska football team will open its 2027 season against Miami (Ohio) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Friday, Aug. 27, 2027, matchup will be the second time in three seasons the Huskers have opened a season at Arrowhead. This will mark the first-ever meeting between Nebraska and Miami (Ohio).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Huskers and RedHawks were originally scheduled to play in Lincoln on Sept. 11, 2027, but moved the season opener after the FBS Oversight committee made changes to the playing calendar allowing schools to start a week earlier, according to Nebraska Athletics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur fans and team enjoyed the game in Kansas City a year ago, and shortly after that contest we began having discussions with the Chiefs about returning to Arrowhead,\u201d Nebraska Deputy AD\/Chief Operating Officer Haven Fields said. \u201cThe 2027 schedule provided an opportunity to play a game in another great venue with Memorial Stadium at a reduced capacity, while maintaining seven games in Lincoln for our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The matchup with Miami (Ohio) in Kansas City will not be part of Nebraska\u2019s seven-game season ticket package for 2027.
