{"id":857577,"date":"2026-09-23T08:42:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T08:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/857577\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T08:42:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T08:42:17","slug":"new-york-surpasses-san-francisco-bay-area-as-top-tech-talent-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/857577\/","title":{"rendered":"New York surpasses San Francisco Bay Area as top tech talent market"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>EliseAI Chief Experience Officer Fran Loftus discusses New York\u2019s growing concentration of AI talent and companies while addressing how the technology is creating new opportunities and automating existing work.<\/p>\n<p>New York has overtaken the San Francisco Bay Area as the nation&#8217;s largest tech talent market by workforce size for the first time, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/artificial-intelligence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">artificial intelligence<\/a> boom helps reshape where technology companies are hiring and expanding.<\/p>\n<p>CBRE&#8217;s 2026 Scoring Tech Talent report found that New York&#8217;s tech workforce grew by 30,640 workers between 2022 and 2025 to 394,300, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/fox-news-san-francisco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">San Francisco<\/a> Bay Area&#8217;s tech workforce shrank by 23,900 to 375,730.<\/p>\n<p>Fran Loftus, chief experience officer at New York-based EliseAI, told FOX Business that the numbers reflect what her company is seeing on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I definitely think New York has become a major AI hub,&#8221; Loftus said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/technology\/metas-muse-becomes-app-stores-hottest-download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">META&#8217;S MUSE BECOMES APP STORE&#8217;S HOTTEST DOWNLOAD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1b37792f-new-york.jpg\" alt=\"A view of the New York City skyline\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>New York overtook the San Francisco Bay Area as the nation&#8217;s largest tech talent market by workforce size in 2025, according to CBRE&#8217;s Scoring Tech Talent report. (iStock \/ iStock)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Walking down Fifth Avenue, seeing so many other AI companies, it&#8217;s clear that there is a concentration of great AI technical talent here, which is exactly why we&#8217;ve grown our New York footprint.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But why has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/fox-news-new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">New York<\/a> become an AI hub?<\/p>\n<p>Loftus explained that being in New York puts the company close to both its customers and the people using its products, while the city&#8217;s broad mix of industries gives AI companies access to workers with different types of experience.<\/p>\n<p>EliseAI, a New York City-based AI startup that automates workflows for housing and health care operators, recently moved into a new 109,000-square-foot headquarters in the former Tiffany &amp; Co. building on Fifth Avenue, joining several other AI and tech tenants on the block.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/trump-rebrands-ai-rejects-globalist-scheme-control-tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TRUMP REBRANDS AI, REJECTS &#8216;GLOBALIST SCHEME&#8217; TO CONTROL TECH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/fran-loftus-eliseai-new-york-ai-tech-hub.jpg\" alt=\"EliseAI Chief Experience Officer Fran Loftus\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>EliseAI Chief Experience Officer Fran Loftus told FOX Business that New York has become a &#8220;major AI hub&#8221; as technology companies expand their presence in the city. (Brandon Sloter\/Getty Images \/ Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>When asked about growing concerns surrounding AI, Loftus said its real-world applications are key to evaluating the technology&#8217;s impact.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think when you&#8217;re looking at the application of AI, and EliseAI in particular&#8217;s application of AI, I think it&#8217;s pretty clear that this growth is sustainable and the impact is positive to the end user, the renter or the patient,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>For young professionals entering the workforce or looking to break into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">tech industry<\/a>, Loftus said they should take advantage of the AI boom.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a ton of opportunity,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that the role opportunities for folks that are very entrepreneurial are massive in AI organizations like ours,&#8221; she continued.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/technology\/nvidias-jensen-huang-rejects-ai-doomsday-fears-2030-not-going-end-world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">NVIDIA&#8217;S JENSEN HUANG REJECTS AI DOOMSDAY FEARS: &#8216;2030 IS NOT GOING TO BE THE END OF THE WORLD&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/AWS-Amazon-Q-AI-assistant-GettyImages-1825439532.jpg\" alt=\"AWS Amazon Q AI Assistant\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Loftus said AI is changing the workforce by automating some tasks while creating new roles and shifting employees toward more complex responsibilities.
