The Glasgow band’s last album, Screen Violence, arrived in 2021<\/p>\n
\n\tChvrches<\/a> dropped a new single, \u201cRoses,\u201d along with a music video for the raucous track. The song marks the first new music from the trio, comprised of Lauren Mayberry<\/a>, Martin Doherty, and Iain Cook, after going on hiatus. <\/p>\n \n\tA press release describes the song as \u201ca mission statement for the band\u2019s sonic shift.\u201d It sees the musicians reflecting on the political state of Britain as Mayberry sings, \u201cRaise a glass to delusions of the good days of blood and wine; of pearls for swine.\u201d The chorus interpolates English folk song \u201cRing a Ring o\u2019 Roses.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThis is the longest break we had ever taken between albums and when we got together to write new music, we wanted to really push ourselves and not be retreading ground we\u2019d walked before,\u201d Mayberry said in a statement. \u201cI really think we achieved that. It feels like the most coherent vision we\u2019ve had as a band. We\u2019re excited to be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tChvrches will perform two shows in October with the proceeds going to charity. They will play Glasgow on Oct. 26 and London on Oct. 29.
