August is such a funny month. It\u2019s the slowest hockey calendar of the year, it\u2019s like a hundred degrees outside, and the hockey season feels like it\u2019s nowhere in sight.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s also not really that far away. In less than four weeks, the Avs\u2019 rookies will report for practice before the Rookie Tournament begins on Sept. 12. And from there, it\u2019s full steam ahead to media day, training camp, and preseason.<\/p>\n
