AC Milan\u2019s interest in signing talented Cagliari midfielder Alessandro Romano has been confirmed by another source.<\/p>\n

This morning\u2019s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport was the first to mention Milan\u2019s interest in Romano, who joined Cagliari from Roma in the summer for what looks now like being a bargain \u20ac5m transfer fee, with no buy-back.<\/p>\n

The paper reports that Milan are watching the 20-year-old\u2019s development closely<\/a>, amid the reports that he will get his first ever start for the Italian national team under Roberto Mancini during the break.<\/p>\n

Rossoneri after Romano<\/p>\n

Romano scored goal on his Serie A debut at the Stadio Tardini against Parma, and he has five games as a holding midfielder with Cagliari under his belt, so he couldn\u2019t have imagined a better start to the season.<\/p>\n

According to Calciomercato.com<\/a>, Romano will have half of Europe\u2019s eyes on him at the Stadio Olimpico when he should start against Belgium. Milan have already accredited one of its scouts to closely monitor the Cagliari midfielder at Ruben Amorim\u2019s \u2018specific request\u2019.<\/p>\n

Romano is highly intriguing to the Portuguese coach. Juventus, Inter, and several LaLiga clubs are also interested in the former Roma man, but any discussions will be postponed until next summer.<\/p>\n

In January, barring irresistible offers, he won\u2019t move from Cagliari.
