{"id":859749,"date":"2026-09-25T04:00:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T04:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/859749\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T04:00:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T04:00:12","slug":"rumble-takes-over-thunder-thursday-as-the-thunder-encourages-fans-to-vote-for-him-as-the-nbas-best-mascot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/859749\/","title":{"rendered":"Rumble takes over Thunder Thursday as the Thunder encourages fans to vote for him as the NBA\u2019s best mascot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            OKLAHOMA CITY &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Rumble the Bison brought some Thunder energy to News 9 on Thursday as Oklahoma City fans rally behind the mascot in a national contest.<\/p>\n<p>The Oklahoma City Thunder mascot is nominated for Best NBA Mascot in the USA Today Sports Readers\u2019 Choice Awards. <\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news9.com\/oklahoma-city-news\/rumble-the-bison-nominated-for-usa-today-nba-mascot-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">Rumble the Bison nominated for USA Today NBA mascot award<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During Thunder Thursday, Rumble stopped by the News 9 studio as the team encouraged fans to vote.<\/p>\n<p>\n    Rumble Takes Over Thunder Thursday<\/p>\n<p>Rumble didn\u2019t limit his visit to campaigning for votes.<\/p>\n<p>The mascot surprised the News 9 team on set before eventually joining Chief Meteorologist David Payne at the weather wall.<\/p>\n<p>The appearance came as Thunder fans are encouraged to continue voting daily through the contest deadline.<\/p>\n<p>\n    How To Vote For Rumble<\/p>\n<p>Fans can visit <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/sports\/readers-choice-awards\/rumble-bison-oklahoma-city-thunder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">OKCThunder.com\/VoteRumble <\/a>to reach the USA Today voting page.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone 18 and older can cast one vote every day through Oct. 21.<\/p>\n<p>The contest pits Rumble against other NBA mascots, giving Thunder fans a chance to support one of the franchise\u2019s most recognizable figures.<\/p>\n<p>Thunder representatives said during Thursday\u2019s appearance that fans can also vote in other categories involving Oklahoma City and the Thunder.<\/p>\n<p>\n    Rumble\u2019s History With The Thunder<\/p>\n<p>Rumble has previously earned recognition from the NBA.<\/p>\n<p>He was named NBA Mascot of the Year in 2009.
