Prince William<\/a> and Prince Harry<\/a> will be feeling “horrified and furious” following the publication of Charles Spencer’s new book, a royal expert has claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking on the live recording of HELLO!’s A Right Royal Podcast<\/a> filmed at Quaglino’s<\/a>, Ingrid Seward said that the Earl’s comments regarding King Charles<\/a> will not have gone down well with his sons.<\/p>\n

Ingrid, who is the author of the new book, Catherine & Diana, told us: “I would think that they’re also absolutely horrified that their uncle should say something like that about their father. You know, he’s their father.<\/p>\n

“I think they would be absolutely horrified and furious.”<\/p>\n

Earl Spencer<\/a>‘s memoir about Princess Diana<\/a>, Swan Song: Diana, my Sister, was published on Tuesday to much controversy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Among the claims in the book were allegations that the then-Prince Charles acted “giddily elated” following his ex-wife’s untimely death in a car crash in 1997, and told the Earl: “We’ll forget her soon enough.”<\/p>\n

The reactions to Earl Spencer’s new book<\/p>\n

Ingrid explained that Diana herself would have been disappointed by the book’s release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said: “And as for Diana, I mean, it’s the last thing in the world she would ever want is for anyone to put her husband down. She could, but no one else can.”<\/p>\n

The Earl’s book Swan Song was published on 22 September (@ Instagram \/ @charles.earl.spencer)<\/p>\n

Earl Spencer has said that the intention of the book was to “celebrate” his sister, not provide a “hit piece on the King”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He told People Magazine that Harry is “completely fine” with the book, and only checked that there was nothing “embarrassing” in it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Earl admitted to “concern” about how William and Harry would feel about his portrayal of their father, but said: “I’m not in any way compromising their privacy at all.”<\/p>\n

After its publication on Tuesday, broadcaster Piers Morgan threatened to take legal action<\/a> against Charles Spencer over a “bald-faced” lie that described a “rude” interaction before Diana’s funeral.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Earl apologised for an “error” in the book about the dates Piers edited The Mirror.\u00a0<\/p>\n
