Tebow\u2019s connection with Life Surge is as a speaker contracted to appear at dozens of events in recent years, earning between $50,000 and $100,000 per engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Friday afternoon, Tebow was in Gainesville with Paul Finebaum ahead of Florida\u2019s matchup with Ole Miss this weekend. For us, we\u2019re having our team do an investigation, but also pausing our relationship til we can learn more about the facts to be able to understand more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether he knew about the allegations, Tebow was careful with his response before reiterating they\u2019re investigating the claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, I was at an anti-human trafficking conference yesterday, and the team shared with me when we were leaving as we were flying to Alabama for an event,\u201d Tebow said. \u201cKind of caught off guard with some of it, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re trying to understand more of the facts to really learn it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Torres\u2019s report, attendees are typically charged around $30 to appear at one of Tebow\u2019s speaking engagements for Life Surge. But many of their events are designed to convince people to sign up for the Christian organization\u2019s classes on how to make money in real estate and the stock market. Those courses can cost as much as $50,000. To help with the cost, Life Surge reportedly provided third-party brokers to help attendees apply for credit cards at temporary 0% interest rates, with some people even encouraged to take out lines of credit on their homes and retirement accounts.<\/p>\n<p>While Tebow claims he was \u201ccaught off guard\u201d by this week\u2019s unflattering report on Life Surge, Torre stated he attempted to contact the former NFL quarterback several times before releasing his findings.
