But the scoreline could have been much different if Barcelona star Karim Adeyemi had successfully converted a goalscoring opportunity. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first half, with Germany already leading 1-0, Adeyemi almost had an empty goal to aim at thanks to some smart play from Nathaniel Brown. But the forward failed to even hit the target.<\/p>\n<p>Klopp reacts to Adeyemi miss<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, Jurgen Klopp has reacted to the Adeyemi miss for the first time as Germany prepare for their next game against Greece tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/netherlands-v-germany-uefa-nations-league-2026-27-group-a2-md1-1-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Karim Adeyemi, Barcelona and Germany star\" class=\"wp-image-213906\"  \/>Adeyemi will be ruing the miss vs The Netherlands. (Photo by Dean Mouhtaropoulos\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former Dortmund coach defended the former Dortmund player, adding that Adeyemi has enjoyed a solid start at Barcelona and he is delighted with what he brings to the table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Karim I got to know here is a wonderful and very kind young man. And he\u2019s left an excellent impression so far at Barcelona. Being here means a lot to him,\u201d he said (h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport1.de\/news\/fussball\/dfb-team\/2026\/09\/klopp-witzelt-ueber-adeyemi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Sport1<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThen he wastes a chance like that, one he usually buries. Dealing with that is the big challenge in a football player\u2019s life. And we\u2019re working with him to stay in the game even after something like this happens,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Klopp pointed out that Adeyemi is still a young and developing player, unlike a few other options Germany has in the final third, including Serge Gnabry, whose mistake actually led to the Netherlands equaliser late in the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe\u2019s still young, and we\u2019re working on it.
