As announced during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9njefMDxzqw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Minecraft Live<\/a> event, the new dimension will be the first in more than 15 years, following the introduction of The End dimension with the 1.0 release in late 2011.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.minecraft.net\/en-us\/article\/mclive_sept2026_recap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mojang Studios<\/a> didn&#8217;t reveal much about The Sift, but said that some of the new areas will include the Meadows and the Carapace. In an <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/asha_shar\/status\/2103898609393803471?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">X post<\/a>, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma showed off a teaser video of The Sift dimension and a new mob found within. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.xbox.com\/en-us\/2026\/09\/26\/minecraft-new-dimension-sift-dungeons-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Xbox<\/a>, the upcoming dimension will have new mobs that can be companions or threats, but only said that there will be &#8220;new rules to learn,&#8221; when it comes to gameplay changes.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today at Minecraft LIVE: Dungeons II, our first new dimension in more than 14 years, new ways for creators to build, Minecraft on Nintendo Switch 2, and more.<\/p>\n<p>More than 300,000 people play Minecraft for the first time on an average day.
