{"id":862231,"date":"2026-09-27T07:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T07:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/862231\/"},"modified":"2026-09-27T07:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T07:50:08","slug":"giants-sign-qb-jake-haener-to-53-man-roster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/862231\/","title":{"rendered":"Giants sign QB Jake Haener to 53-man roster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Giants are planning to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/john-harbaugh-were-in-the-process-of-adding-a-quarterback\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">add a quarterback<\/a> from outside the organization in the near future, but it won\u2019t happen before Sunday\u2019s game against the Titans. <\/p>\n<p>Head coach John Harbaugh said on Friday that Jake Haener will be the backup to Jameis Winston in Week 3 and the team signed him off of the practice squad on Saturday. Haener signed with the Giants in August and returned to the practice squad after final cuts in August.<\/p>\n<p>Haener made one start and appeared in eight games for the Saints in 2024.
