\n\tAlthough Paramount<\/a> was one of several companies to roll back their DEI initiative<\/a> when Trump was re-elected, Survivor<\/a> continues to operate by it.<\/p>\n

\n\tHost Jeff Probst<\/a> recently noted that \u201cnothing has changed\u201d with how the reality competition series approaches diversity, equity and inclusion, noting that it was \u201cone of the biggest positive changes ever\u201d for the CBS<\/a> show that launched in 2000.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd if you watch our show, you know that we\u2019re so diverse \u2014 and it\u2019s not just skin color or ethnicity. It goes much deeper than that. It\u2019s one of the biggest positive changes ever,\u201d he told The New York Times<\/a>. \u201cOur stories are so much more interesting now because we have people from completely different walks of life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tProbst continued, \u201cI feel no pressure. No one ever says, can you count the numbers again? But Jesse Tannenbaum, who runs our casting team, knows: There\u2019s no stopping, not because we\u2019re told to do it. This is what we need. We need diversity. It\u2019s for narrative. All those differences matter in the story when you throw people together and force them to rely on each other while conspiring against each other. The more diverse, the more interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2020, Paramount implemented a DEI initiative<\/a> to make CBS and its other brands more inclusive, which the company rolled back<\/a> last year amid the Trump administration\u2019s attacks on such programs. Months later, Skydance pledged there would be no DEI policies<\/a> under the Ellison\u2019s reign as they sought the FCC\u2019s approval of the merger.<\/p>\n
