Oracle (NYSE:ORCL<\/a>), the database, cloud and healthcare software company, introduced<\/a> an electronic health record built for cancer care. Shares were down about 2.4% to $133.77<\/a> around 10:16 a.m. ET Monday. Oracle announced the product last week; HTN Health Tech News reported on it<\/a> Monday. <\/p>\n

Cancer treatment can leave a clinician piecing together scans, lab results, genomic data and drug histories before making the next call. Oracle wants its oncology system to put that information in one place. Its planned AI assistants would prepare patient summaries, help with tumor board preparation and turn treatment decisions into orders, referrals and clinical records. <\/p>\n

The opportunity is clear, but a product announcement does not prove hospitals will buy it. Oracle still needs to show when the planned features will be available, which customers will adopt them and how much time clinicians actually save.
