Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is yet to train since injuring his ankle<\/p>\n
Stale Solbakken has confirmed Norway’s medical staff are in contact with Arsenal regarding Martin Odegaard<\/a> after he was hurt following a late challenge from Bernardo Silva<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the closing stages of Sunday’s 2-1 Nations League defeat, the former Manchester City player left his mark on the furious Arsenal<\/a> captain, prompting fierce backlash.<\/p>\n Odegaard was then spotted limping back onto Norway’s team bus and Solbakken insists information on his skipper’s condition has already been shared with his club.<\/p>\n He told Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen<\/a>: “Now we have to see [whether he can play] but he hasn’t been sent home.<\/p>\n “The medical sector is reporting what has happened, and now it’s like every metre you run here, and all the training and everything you’ve done, is sent to the club.<\/p>\n “It’s standard procedure for that. I’m not going to interfere with that, there are four or five people employed for that, so they have to manage it.”<\/p>\n Odegaard was no present alongside his team-mates on Tuesday morning as they trained ahead of Thursday’s trip to Wales.<\/p>\n Assistant coach Brede Hangeland was quizzed for an update on Odegaard and he insists that the player was feeling slightly better: “Martin was in the breakfast room, he was happy and he had less pain in his ankle than yesterday.<\/p>\n “It’s a long time until the next game, it’s a full two and a half days. It’s a shame that people behave like that. It’s a head fog from him. He just kicks me down long after I’ve played the ball away. I don’t understand what he’s doing.”<\/p>\n The 27-year-old angrily confronted Silva on the pitch while a number of his team-mates also blasted the Real Madrid maestro during post-match interviews.<\/p>\n Defender Leo Ostigard said: “The challenge from Bernardo Silva came very late. From the video replay, the tackle was extremely ugly. I think a red card would have been fully justified.<\/p>\n “It’s a really nasty one. It’s just absolutely awful to do. That’s the kind of thing we don’t want to see happen to our captain.
