Citing a source familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that Disney is laying off a few hundred employees in the company’s human resources and technology departments, marking the latest round of cuts after earlier workforce reductions earlier in the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

(AaronP\/Bauer-Griffin\/GC Images)<\/p>\n In April, Disney eliminated about 1,000 positions across the company’s marketing group, which had been reorganized with some job cuts in January, as well as in other parts of the company including its studio and TV divisions<\/a>, ESPN, products and technology and certain corporate functions.<\/p>\n Disney reportedly laid off several hundred employees in July, including at Pixar, ESPN, Disney Studios and Disney Entertainment Television.<\/p>\n The company also offered voluntary early retirement packages to longtime executives in August amid a restructuring push.<\/p>\n The moves come amid a leadership transition at Disney, which had Josh D’Amaro taking charge as CEO in March.
