We coexist with them; they live here too,” said Krysten Kellum of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Experts recommend keeping pets inside at night, walking pets on a leash, supervising children outdoors, and avoiding feeding or approaching mountain lions.

The Oakdale Police Department said the sighting is not cause for immediate concern but encouraged residents to use caution if they encounter a mountain lion.

See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter | Find us on YouTube here and subscribe to our channel.

Mountain lion sighting in Oakdale prompts safety reminders A mountain lion was spotted on a Ring camera in…

[51
20116,14854,2356,46611,41090,29362,365166,29372,365163,365161,18211,5971,365164,186191,365165,365160,20460,2354,345309,365162,365167,18787,142393,365159,21980,58057,40099,79,7241,201
post-865585","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-wildlife","tag-animal-sighting","tag-area","tag-california","tag-california-department","tag-california-department-of-fish-and-wildlife","tag-caution","tag-children-outdoors","tag-concern","tag-debbie-mayberry","tag-east-d-street","tag-fish","tag-illness","tag-keep-pets-inside","tag-krysten-kellum","tag-leash-walking","tag-maag-avenue","tag-morning","tag-mountain-lion","tag-oakdale","tag-oakdale-police-department","tag-oakdale-prompt-safety-reminder","tag-pet","tag-pet-safety","tag-ring-camera","tag-river","tag-safety-reminders","tag-san-joaquin-county","tag-science","tag-sign","tag-wildlife
["GET
