Sep 30 (Field Level Media) \u2013 Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is facing a misdemeanor DUI charge stemming from his \u200barrest in March, Arizona Sports reported on \u200cWednesday.<\/p>\n
According to court records, prosecutors in Scottsdale, Ariz., filed a criminal complaint against the 30-year-old NBA veteran on Monday. He has a court date scheduled for Oct. 28.<\/p>\n
Brooks was \u200carrested \u200bat about 1 a.m. on \u2060March 6 for suspicion \u2060of driving under the influence. At the time, he was sidelined by a hand injury.<\/p>\n
The Suns signed Brooks to a three-year, $73 million extension \u200bin August.<\/p>\n
The 2026-27 regular season tips off on Oct. 21 against the host Portland Trail Blazers.<\/p>\n
Brooks \u2060posted a career-high average of \u206020.2 points per game in 2025-26, \u200bhis first season after Phoenix acquired him in the \u200bdeal that sent Kevin Durant to the \u200cHouston Rockets.<\/p>\n
Brooks added 3.6 rebounds in 56 games (all starts) for the Suns. He averaged 26.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as Phoenix was swept by the \u2060Oklahoma City Thunder in a four-game first-round playoff series.<\/p>\n
Noted for his defense and for antagonizing opponents on the court, \u2060Brooks has \u200cbeen suspended six times in his \u2060NBA career, per BasketballReference.com.<\/p>\n
A second-round draft \u200bpick \u200cin 2017, Brooks played six seasons \u200bfor the \u2060Memphis Grizzlies before he was traded to Houston in July 2023. He spent two seasons with the Rockets (2023-25). In 548 NBA games (521 starts), Brooks has averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals.<\/p>\n
