{"id":866387,"date":"2026-09-30T23:04:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T23:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/866387\/"},"modified":"2026-09-30T23:04:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T23:04:13","slug":"ios-27-2-adds-new-messages-feature-thats-already-a-favorite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/866387\/","title":{"rendered":"iOS 27.2 adds new Messages feature that\u2019s already a favorite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/messages-app-icon-ios-27.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">iOS 27.2 is coming soon with <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/09\/29\/ios-27-2-three-new-features-coming-soon-to-your-iphone\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1071933\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">several new features<\/a> for iPhone users, including a Messages addition that was previously in the iOS 27 beta but later got pulled: Suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>Messages \u2018Suggestions\u2019 return in iOS 27.2 after being pulled from iOS 27 beta<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790809449_492_messages-one-tap-suggestions-ios-27.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1056024\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the iOS 27 beta this summer, one of my favorite AI features was a Messages addition that didn\u2019t feel like AI at all: Suggestions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what they do, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/2026\/06\/apple-intelligence-brings-powerful-ai-capabilities-into-everyday-experiences\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">per Apple<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Messages offers one-tap suggestions based on the context of users\u2019 conversations, making it easier than ever to get things done, such as creating a reminder or a note. For example, if someone asks for photos, Messages can also help users find the right ones, recognizing keywords, locations, and people in their library to find the best options.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suggestions appear as small, convenient action buttons beneath messages they\u2019re relevant to.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As seen in the image below, if someone asks you to do something, you might see a suggestion to add to Reminders or Notes. Or if an event is mentioned, suggestions lets you easily add it to your calendar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/messages-suggestions-ios-27-example.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1072166\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suggestions worked well for me in the iOS 27 beta, but shortly before the fall public launch, Apple <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/09\/11\/apple-says-two-ios-27-features-arent-coming-until-a-future-software-update\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">delayed the feature<\/a> into a \u201cfuture software update.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now in the iOS 27.2 beta, suggestions are back. And one way they\u2019ve changed might explain why they were pulled in the first place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I mentioned, suggestions performed as expected for me during the summer. But if I had one complaint, it was that they sometimes appeared when a message\u2019s context didn\u2019t merit them. At times I saw suggestions to add things to Notes, Reminders, or Calendar when there wasn\u2019t a clear justification for these recommendations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But so far at least, in my testing of iOS 27.2 there are fewer suggestions appearing in my Messages conversations. When I see them, it\u2019s always obvious why they\u2019re being suggested.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s hoping the feature makes the shipping version of iOS 27.2 in <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/09\/25\/apple-has-big-october-coming-for-new-hardware-and-software-heres-the-lineup\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1071514\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just a few weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How have suggestions been working for you in iOS 27.2?
