\n\tPophouse<\/a> Entertainment, the Sweden-based entertainment and music investment firm co-founded by ABBA\u2019s Bjorn Ulvaeus, has acquired a 50% stake in the publishing and master music rights of Australian singer-songwriter, Sia, for $180 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the announcement, Pophouse will support Sia in developing new creative ventures while continuing to steward her body of work.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Pophouse announced the deal, the figure was reported by TMZ<\/a>, noting that the deal is complicated by the singer-songwriter\u2019s recent divorce from Dan Bernad. Citing legal documents, TMZ reports that Sia will receive $165 million for the songs she wrote before she married Bernad \u2014 including hits like \u201cChandelier,\u201d \u201cTitanium\u201d and \u201cCheap Thrills\u201d \u2014 for which he has waived any claims in exchange for a $1 million payment. However, the remaining $15 million, for songs she wrote during their marriage, will be held in escrow until the two agree to terms. The couple were married for less than three years before Sia filed for divorce in March of 2025.<\/p>\n

\n\tSia originally rose to international fame with her 2004 song \u201cBreathe,\u201d which was featured in the final episode of the popular HBO series \u201cSix Feet Under.\u201d She went on to rack up nine Grammy nominations and hits like \u201cUnstoppable,\u201d \u201cChandelier,\u201d \u201cElastic Heart,\u201d \u201cCheap Thrills\u201d and, with Diplo and Labrinth as the group LSD, the 2018 hit \u201cThunderclouds\u201d; she has also co-written hits for Rihanna (\u201cDiamonds\u201d) and Beyonce (\u201cPretty Hurts\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tSia said: \u201cI\u2019m really excited to be working with Pophouse. These songs mean so much to me, and I love that they really understand that and want to take care of them. I\u2019ve been making music for a very long time now, and it feels exciting to think about all the new and different ways these songs might get to live on and find people. \n\tPophouse\u2019s investment in the Sia catalogue is made through Pophouse Fund I, the firm\u2019s debut fund which closed in March 2025, reaching its hard cap of \u20ac1 billion. In addition, over \u20ac200 million was secured capital through dedicated co-investment vehicles, bringing the total fundraise to over \u20ac1.2bn.<\/p>\n

\n\tPophouse\u2019s holdings also include catalogs by Iron Maiden, Tina Turner, Kiss, Cyndi Lauper, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia.
