The collaboration combines Biomay\u2019s expertise in mRNA manufacturing, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation, aseptic fill-finish, plasmid DNA, recombinant proteins, and Cas9 production with Synthego\u2019s capabilities in CRISPR gene-editing solutions and single-guide RNA (sgRNA) design and manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration is designed to help developers accelerate CRISPR programs by providing streamlined access to key components and manufacturing capabilities required for gene-editing applications.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the arrangement, Synthego customers will gain access to Biomay\u2019s off-the-shelf Cas9 recombinant nuclease and Cas9-encoding mRNA products for both research-use-only and cGMP applications. The companies will also offer integrated cGMP solutions that combine Biomay\u2019s mRNA manufacturing, LNP formulation, aseptic fill-finish, and Cas9 production capabilities with Synthego\u2019s sgRNA expertise.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the collaboration will support custom cGMP mRNA manufacturing services, including LNP formulation and fill-finish operations for gene-editing and other advanced therapeutic programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to enter into this collaboration with a pioneering CRISPR solutions provider like Synthego,\u201d said May Guo, VP of Business Development at Biomay. \u201cBy combining our complementary capabilities, we can make it easier for customers to access the critical components and cGMP manufacturing services they need, helping them accelerate their gene-editing programs from early development toward the clinic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hana Kim, PhD, Director of Clinical Product Management at Synthego, highlighted Biomay\u2019s experience in cGMP mRNA manufacturing and gene-editing component production, noting that the company manufactures the Cas9 nuclease used in CASGEVY, the first approved CRISPR\/Cas9-based therapy.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership reflects growing demand for end-to-end manufacturing solutions that can support the rapid advancement of gene-editing therapies from research through clinical development.
