{"id":868075,"date":"2026-10-02T09:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T09:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/868075\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T09:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T09:04:12","slug":"bain-capital-brainstorms-where-the-ai-revenues-gonna-come-from","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/868075\/","title":{"rendered":"Bain Capital Brainstorms Where The AI Revenue\u2019s Gonna Come From"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A friend sent me <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bain.com\/insights\/new-innovation-is-required-to-fund-ais-6-trillion-buildout-technology-report-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">this new Bain Capital study<\/a> on the growth required to match the current levels of capital expenditure on AI, essentially breaking down the cost of the data center and other associated build outs. It\u2019s an interesting document, not simply for the number-crunching and the predictions, but as a document in the more literary and analytic sense. Needless to say, Bain isn\u2019t coming at this from any \u201cboo capitalism!\u201d\/\u201dthis is insane lol\u201d viewpoint. But the conclusions aren\u2019t that far from the \u201cthis is insane lol\u201d position. It\u2019s very much, \u201chey! we can do this\u201d but also, \u201cum \u2026 wow, there\u2019s quite a lot to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The broad stroke numbers are these. The study says that to keep up with the current levels of capital expenditures AI will need to become a $6 trillion dollar market by 2031. (To give some perspective on that number, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telecomtv.com\/content\/digital-platforms-services\/gartner-forecasts-worldwide-it-spending-to-grow-14-2-in-2026-totalling-6-37tn-55964\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a recent Gartner study<\/a> predicted that global IT spending will be just under $6.4 trillion this year. So devices, hardware, software, services, kind of everything.) It then posits that we can see the beginnings of, with some level of out-year predictability, something on the order of a $1.5 trillion market \u2014 which would be made up of a greatly expanded consumer market (Claude apps, ChatGPT, etc.) of between $200 and $400 billion and then an enterprise market (software, sales, marketing, business optimization) of between $1 and $1.4 trillion. So we\u2019re left with about $4.5 trillion to go.
