Authorities identify woman struck and killed by car outside of Faulkner Hospital<\/p>\n

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office identified the woman struck and killed by a vehicle<\/a> outside the Faulkner Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Officials said Patricia McGrath, 68, of Dorchester, was sitting on a bench outside the Belkin House building around 10:45 a.m. when she was hit by an SUV.<\/p>\n

McGrath later succumbed to her injuries. Two people inside the vehicle sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The district attorney’s office said no criminal charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

“The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a deliberate act,” Boston Police Department Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said. “This was, in fact, a very tragic situation, very unfortunate situation that happened here.”<\/p>\n

The SUV also struck a gas line outside the hospital, and several people inside the Belkin House were evacuated as National Grid crews made repairs.<\/p>\n
