{"id":869805,"date":"2026-10-03T21:46:15","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T21:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/869805\/"},"modified":"2026-10-03T21:46:15","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T21:46:15","slug":"sbi-agent-shot-while-searching-for-man-in-reidsville-officials-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/869805\/","title":{"rendered":"SBI agent shot while searching for man in Reidsville, officials say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SBI agent shot while searching for man in Reidsville; suspect in custody, officials say<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1791063975_893_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Rebecca Smith\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>REIDSVILLE, N.C. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">A North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) agent is receiving treatment after being shot by a man in Reidsville, according to the agency.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">SBI officials said the Rockingham County Sheriff&#8217;s Office requested assistance after 38-year-old Marvin White allegedly fired at two deputies in the 800 block of Walker Street.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">SBI agents responded and began searching the area. Investigators determined White may have entered a crawl space beneath a house.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">As agents gathered additional equipment to search the crawl space, White allegedly came out and began shooting, hitting an SBI agent in the leg. Deputies said the agent then returned fire.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">The agent was taken to a hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The injured agent is a 10-year SBI veteran who serves on the agency&#8217;s Special Response Team and works in the Northern Piedmont District.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">No deputies were injured.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">White was taken into custody and charged with multiple crimes.
