The National Hurricane Center<\/a> designated a low-pressure area in the southwestern Gulf as Invest 92-L on Monday. <\/p>\n

Invest is short for \u201cinvestigation\u201d and refers to a weather feature that the National Hurricane Center is investigating.<\/p>\n

This means we can start getting more spaghetti computer models about this disturbance. <\/p>\n

WESH 2 First Warning Weather Meteorologist Cam Tran said the area of interest could become a tropical depression by the end of the week. <\/p>\n

The system has 30 mph winds and a minimum central pressure of 1010 mb.<\/p>\n

The latest model tracks show a slight easterly shift. However, there is still a big spread in where this could possibly go if it develops. <\/p>\n

For now, the system is still expected to remain weak and well west of Central Florida. <\/p>\n

Wind shear is forecast to increase across the northern Gulf later in the week. This could prevent anything stronger from developing, keeping the season hurricane-free. <\/p>\n
