Stock futures edged higher early Tuesday after the Nasdaq Composite climbed to a fresh record.\u00a0<\/p>\n
S&P 500 futures<\/a> were up 0.11%, while Dow futures<\/a> gained 76 points, or 0.15%. Nasdaq-100 futures<\/a> added 0.15%.\u00a0<\/p>\n During the regular trading day, the <\/a>Nasdaq Composite<\/a> gained roughly 1% to reach an all-time high and record close. The Dow Industrials<\/a> advanced about 90 points, or 0.2%, while the S&P 500<\/a> added 0.7%<\/p>\n Stocks related to the artificial intelligence trade saw notable moves during the day. SpaceX<\/a> jumped more than 7%, while Nvidia<\/a> and <\/a>Tesla<\/a> rose over 2% each. Meta Platforms<\/a> and <\/a>Microsoft<\/a> jumped over 1%.\u00a0<\/p>\n In Asia, Japan’s\u00a0Nikkei 225<\/a> added 0.29% on Tuesday, while South Korea’s Kospi<\/a> was 0.23% lower. Australia’s S&P\/ASX 200<\/a> advanced 0.53%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index<\/a> added 0.95%, while mainland China’s market remained closed for the Golden Week holiday. <\/p>\n Oil prices fell Monday. Brent crude futures<\/a> slipped 1.9% to close at $100.32 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate crude<\/a> fell about 1.8% to $89.43 per barrel. Oil was trading slightly higher Tuesday.<\/p>\n Treasury yields remained in focus, as the 10-year note yield<\/a> once more touched highs last seen in 2002, surpassing 5.3%. The 30-year yield<\/a> also breached 5.7% at one point also for its highest level in 24 years.<\/p>\n Bonds have been volatile over the past six weeks, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management investment chief Lisa Shalett said in a note to clients.
