The company works with \u201clarge-scale businesses\u201d across Brazil, Ryan said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The deal gives Ryan an operational foothold in Brazil and broadens its capacity to support clients with tax, compliance and technology-related needs, it added.<\/p>\n
Ryan Latin American operations president Jon Sweet said: \u201cThis acquisition represents an important step in Ryan\u2019s strategy to expand our capabilities across Latin America.<\/p>\n
\u201cComtax brings a highly experienced team with deep knowledge in one of the region\u2019s most complex tax environments.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir expertise, combined with Ryan\u2019s global scale and broader tax services and software capabilities, gives us a stronger platform to serve clients in Brazil and across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
Comtax\u2019s offerings include digital tax consulting such as process assessments, tax mapping, governance and optimisation; tax-determination support; and tax technology implementation across platforms including SAP and Oracle.<\/p>\n
The company also provides compliance and tax efficiency support through preventive audits, validations and risk-reduction work.<\/p>\n
Other services include data and tax-matrix reviews covering product classification and supplier and customer validation, as well as tax audit support for digital file audits, inspections and compliance requirements.<\/p>\n
As per the terms of the deal, Sim\u00f5es, Brand\u00e3o, Carvalho and nearly 70 employees will join Ryan\u2019s Latin American team. They will continue working with clients from S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n
