\n\tProduced by Will Smith<\/a>\u2018s Westbrook Studios, alongside The Malar Group, 215 (Philadelphia\u2019s area code) will tell the story of teenage friends chasing a record deal as they try to make a name for themselves in Philadelphia\u2019s growing hip-hop scene, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWestbrook has always been focused on developing stories with strong characters, distinctive worlds and a clear point of view,\u201d Terence Carter, president of television, Westbrook Studios told the outlet. \u201c215 is especially meaningful to us because it draws from the rise of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and celebrates Philadelphia during such a defining era in the city\u2019s late-\u201980s\/early-\u201990s hip-hop scene. The Malar Group shares our approach to storytelling, and this partnership gives us the opportunity to build a slate together with intention, beginning with a project rooted in friendship, ambition and the integrity of this specific time and place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis won\u2019t be the first time Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff<\/a> have worked on a television series together. The two famously starred in the influential NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for six seasons from 1990 to 1996.<\/p>\n
