Valerie Bertinelli clapped back at her \u201chaters\u201d after she honored her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen, on the sixth anniversary of his death. <\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the \u201cOne Day at a Time\u201d actress shared a throwback photo<\/a> of the couple in the car, captioning it, \u201cPhotos may fade, like old photos do, but not the memories and never the love.\u201d<\/p>\n In a follow-up video<\/a> addressed to her followers, Bertinelli, 66, explained that she always gets \u201cpushback\u201d when she posts a picture with the Van Halen musician, whom she was married to from 1981 to 2007.<\/p>\n Valerie Bertinelli posted a tribute (seen above) to late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen on the sixth anniversary of his death. wolfiesmom\/Instagram<\/p>\n Bertinelli (seen here) then shared a follow-up video clapping back at her \u201chaters\u201d after she got \u201cpushback\u201d for the tribute. wolfiesmom\/Instagram<\/p>\n \u201cIt used to really bother me,\u201d she said. \u201cIt does not, not anymore. Not any longer, because I learned a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Bertinelli vented that her online critics don\u2019t outright tell her she\u2019s \u201cnot allowed to love your ex-husband,\u201d but instead they \u201cberate you and berate you for months, make you think you\u2019re crazy until you finally say, \u2018OK, fine, I don\u2019t love him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey will never say, \u2018Take that picture down, the one of your ex-husband along with you and your son in better days,’\u201d she continued. \u201cBut they say that you\u2019re obsessed, say all kinds of f\u2014ed up s\u2013t until you take the picture down.\u201d<\/p>\n Bertinelli (seen above) said the backlash \u201cused to really bother me,\u201d adding, \u201cIt does not, not anymore.\u201d wolfiesmom\/Instagram<\/p>\n Bertinelli (seen here with Eddie in 1994) insisted the late musician still holds \u201ca big piece\u201d of her heart. FilmMagic, Inc<\/p>\n The former Food Network star said she\u2019s \u201clearned a lot\u201d over the years, noting that Eddie \u2014 \u00a0with whom she welcomed son Wolfgang in 1991<\/a> \u2014 still holds \u201ca big piece\u201d of her heart.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd, if I ever fall in love again, I\u2019ll make room in my heart for that person, without it touching the love I have for Ed, my son, my daughter-in-law, all the people that I love,\u201d she went on. \u201cYour heart opens up. Because your heart can hold a lot of love. All of our hearts can.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo you can\u2019t bother me,\u201d Bertinelli added. \u201cI love Ed. Never stopped loving Ed.
