The e-commerce giant<\/a> just dropped what it\u2019s calling Amazon\u2019s About You \u2014 essentially a showcase of your personality based on previous purchases, conversations with Alexa <\/a>for shopping, any written product reviews and more.<\/p>\n Technically, the retailer has been offering personalized shopping<\/a> recs for years, using algorithms to push products it thinks you will like. Today, it does the same thing but on a bigger scale.<\/p>\n \u201cWe aim to make every experience feel like it was designed especially for you, whether you are trying to find the perfect outfit, a book you\u2019ll love, or your next dinner idea,\u201d Amazon said in a recent press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n Amazon\u2019s newest feature \u2014 About You \u2014 has created individual dossiers about its customers. <\/p>\n A customer checks their Amazon\u2019s \u201cAbout You\u201d section on their app. Threads\/@fangirlinmegan<\/p>\n This time, the popular commerce site has created an editable section for shoppers \u2014 which some folks are calling a personal dossier \u2014 where all of your habits and likes are displayed for you. The move is supposed to offer an even more comprehensive list of recommendations based on you.<\/p>\n While the online retail behemoth said these lists can be changed and edited based on what your current preferences are to make more accurate suggestions \u2014 users are racing to check out what its original compilation thinks of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n One Threads user<\/a> shared her interesting about me section, which included Amazon noting that she has a \u201cflat buttocks.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI stumbled upon a page of assumptions that Amazon has made about me based on my purchases and I\u2019m literally speechless,\u201d the Threads user wrote. \u201cI mean it ain\u2019t wrong but damn did you have to call me out like that?\u201d<\/p>\n While some dossiers are unintentionally calling customers out, others are quite accurate. <\/p>\n
