\n\tComing off his breakout role this year, Michael Johnston<\/a> is teasing what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Obsession star, who is openly gay, recently teased an upcoming role in \u201ca really incredibly queer story,\u201d which includes a \u201csteamy moment\u201d on screen for LGBTQ<\/a> fans.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere will be a really incredible queer story in my future, and I\u2019m so excited to play it and to have my steamy moment,\u201d Johnston told Attitude<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnston previously noted that after the success of Obsession, he\u2019s able to \u201cchoose what I want to do,\u201d explaining that he\u2019s \u201cdefinitely looking forward to playing a really intentional queer role<\/a>, story that\u2019s really meaningful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing his 2015-\u201917 run as Corey Bryant on MTV\u2019s Teen Wolf, Johnston recalled he \u201cstill wasn\u2019t comfortable with my sexuality at the time, but I had no idea the impact that just being myself and playing this character authentically would have. I got thousands of messages from people thanking me and telling me how they feel better about themselves. They were able to come out to their parents.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe impact that I made just from doing something that scared me and being brave\u2026 and not only that was really cool, but also kind of helped me learn how to accept myself, so that\u2019s something I\u2019m really looking forward to,\u201d added Johnston. \u201cI don\u2019t know, maybe I\u2019ll write it myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnston, who made his breakout performance as the toxically hopeless romantic Bear in Curry Barker\u2019s Obsession, has most recently been in talks<\/a> to join Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the upcoming fourth installment of The Mummy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Coming off his breakout role this year, Michael Johnston is teasing what\u2019s next.
