Prince Harry revealed he \u201cslipped into depression\u201d after fleeing the UK with Meghan Markle and their son, Prince Archie, in 2019.<\/p>\n
During a new MasterClass session<\/a> \u201cRedefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss,\u201d hosted by neuroscientist and academic professor Dr. Mary-Frances O\u2019Connor, the Duke of Sussex said he experienced an \u201cadrenaline crash\u201d when the family arrived in Canada at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing in Canada, away from the stressful environment where presumably my body was just pumped full of adrenaline, within two or three days, I experienced this adrenaline crash, something that I\u2019d never experienced before,\u201d Harry, 42, said. <\/p>\n Prince Harry (seen here) said during a new MasterClass session that he \u201cslipped into depression\u201d after moving away from the UK with Meghan Markle and Prince Archie. http:\/\/www.masterclass.com<\/a><\/p>\n Harry (seen above with Markle and Archie in 2019) explained he experienced an \u201cadrenaline crash\u201d when the family arrived in Canada. WireImage<\/p>\n The \u201cSpare\u201d author explained that he realized he \u201cneeded stress in order to get the adrenaline to make my brain function because I became useless around the house.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI actually slipped into depression for about two weeks and I felt like I couldn\u2019t function without adrenaline,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Harry and Markle, 45, began living in Canada with their then-infant son in late 2019. Getty Images<\/p>\n During his MasterClass, Harry reflected on feeling \u201cabsolute panic\u201d when he was carrying out his public duties in the UK. <\/p>\n \u201cI started to realize that I had become seriously depleted when just putting a simple dress shirt on \u2014 the tightening of the collar \u2014 literally felt like I was suffocating, and I would be experiencing panic attacks just in the car on the way to work,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s when I realized, okay, there\u2019s something bigger, there\u2019s something else that you need to look into here.\u201d<\/p>\n Harry (pictured above) also reflected on feeling \u201cabsolute panic\u201d when he was carrying out public duties in the UK. \/ SplashNews.com<\/p>\n The \u201cSpare\u201d author (seen here in London last week) explained he \u201cfelt like I was suffocating\u201d when he\u2019d put a simple dress shirt on. Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cFor 15, 20 years, when I was being asked, \u2018Are you okay?\u2019 My response was, \u2018I\u2019m fine,’\u201d Harry, who was 12 when his mom died<\/a>, recalled. \u201cIt was numbness, emotional shutdown. And without knowing it, adrenaline was pushing me, was driving me.\u201d<\/p>\n Harry admitted his \u201cpost-traumatic stress was not tied\u201d to his military tour in Afghanistan, but instead that experience \u201cappeared to be a trigger for other traumas that had stored themselves within me.\u201d<\/p>\n As Page Six previously reported, the Sussexes moved back to England to be closer to Harry\u2019s cancer-stricken father, King Charles III<\/a>.<\/p>\n Harry (seen here with his wife and kids) explained his adrenaline after his mom died pushed him to join the military. meghan\/Instagram<\/p>\n Harry and Markle (seen above) moved back to the UK with their kids in August.
