Michael Douglas revealed he eventually refused to appear on David Letterman\u2019s late night talk show because he felt the host \u201cwent too far\u201d with him at one point, and \u201chad a real nasty sense of humor.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had been a regular guest on Letterman\u2019s show earlier in my career, but the last time I was on, I felt David went too far,\u201d Douglas writes in his memoir, \u201cOne Helluva Ride,\u201d<\/a> per People<\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u201cWall Street\u201d actor, 82, recalls Letterman airing a commercial filmed by Douglas\u2019 late mother, Diana Dill, during a \u201cLate Show\u201d segment \u201cwithout warning.\u201d <\/p>\n Michael Douglas revealed he refused to appear on David Letterman\u2019s late night talk show because he felt the host \u201cwent too far\u201d with him on one appearance on the show. CBS via Getty Images<\/p>\n The talk show host \u201cstarted grilling\u201d him about it, Douglas writes, adding, \u201cIt felt like he was making fun of my mother.\u201d<\/p>\n The appearance left Douglas with a feeling that Letterman \u201chad a real nasty sense of humor\u201d and triggered Douglas to refuse further appearances on the popular variety hour, he writes. <\/p>\n \u201cAfter that, whenever the producers of the show requested to have me back on, I always refused,\u201d the \u201cFatal Attraction\u201d star writes. <\/p>\n \u201cI said no for 18 straight years. Dave wrote me personal letters to apologize, but my feelings didn\u2019t change. He had crossed a line.\u201d<\/p>\n Douglas said that in one appearance, Letterman aired a commercial that his mother appeared in, without warning.
