The latest update sees Kane and Bayern reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bavarianfootballworks.com\/bayern-munich-transfer-rumors-news\/264682\/bayern-munich-harry-kane-close-to-deal-through-2029\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on the verge of an agreement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">It should come as welcome news to Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany that his star striker looks set to stay longer, but the Belgian has never been one to count his chickens before they hatch. Interview by Sky Sport DE, Kompany was asked about the recent reports and sidestepped the topic:<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI\u2019m always respectful of the situation between the player, the agent and the club,\u201d Kompany replied instead (as captured by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iMiaSanMia\/status\/2107933373419151743?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">@iMiaSanMia<\/a>). \u201cMy responsibility in all of this is simply to make sure that Harry feels comfortable here, that he performs on the pitch, or at least that he has the environment and the surroundings that allow him to do that. Usually, when that is in place, the other things tend to become a little bit easier as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">No player wants to stay where they are not happy, so of course Kompany and his extremely personable nature contribute to the desire of Bayern\u2019s players to remain where they are. But Kompany also knows what his job does not encompass.
