\n\tAlthough Chris Hansen<\/a> has made clear that the feeling is not mutual, Primetime<\/a>\u2018s Robert Pattinson<\/a> has confessed he\u2019s a fan of the To Catch a Predator<\/a> host.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Hansen\u2019s ongoing criticism of the Lance Oppenheim-helmed film, which is now playing in theaters, Pattinson explained that he \u201cwas trying to make [Hansen] look cool\u201d in the Ajon Singh-penned A24 movie, which was based on a 2007 Esquire article by Luke Dittrich.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI mean, it\u2019s weird. I was trying to make him cool. He is cool. I\u2019m a fan,\u201d Pattinson told ET<\/a>. \u201cI think in some ways, it\u2019s an aesthetic thing; what I think is cool might not be cool to other people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Hansen has accused the film of capitalizing on his name, Pattinson noted that he\u2019s seen the film introducing the Dateline alum to a whole new generation of fans.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFrom the screeners we\u2019ve gone to, I think it\u2019s amazing when you see really, really young audiences and people turning up dressed as Chris Hansen,\u201d he said. \u201cEverybody\u2019s doing Chris Hansen impressions, and they\u2019re gonna be putting Chris Hansen posters on their walls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson continued, \u201cI think it\u2019s kind of awesome, and it\u2019s at the same age that I discovered him. And then [they] go back, and look at his work, and rediscover or discover all the important work he\u2019s doing as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore giving his official review<\/a> of Primetime, Hansen has gone on a public rollercoaster of reactions to the project, including contemplating legal action<\/a> and purchasing ad space<\/a> before upcoming screenings of the movie to promote his true-crime streaming network TruBlu, where he continues his sting investigations.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow in theaters, Primetime follows Chris Hansen (Pattinson) as he attempts to make television history with NBCs To Catch a Predator (2004-\u201907), a hidden camera show that set up stings for adult men seeking sex from minors online.<\/p>\n
