Amazon October Prime Big Deal Days FAQs

When is October Prime Day?

This year, Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days event runs from Oct. 6-7. October Prime Big Deal Days takes place every year and always on the run-up to Amazon’s Black Friday week and the start of the shopping season.

How did we choose these Amazon Prime Day deals?

ZDNET only writes about deals we want to buy — devices and products we want, need, or would recommend. Our experts looked for deals at least 20% off (or rarely on sale — we’re looking at you, Apple), using established price comparison tools and trackers to determine whether the deal is actually on sale and how often it drops. Samsung devices often appear during these sales events, but discounts vary product-by-product.

We also reviewed customer reviews to learn what matters to real people who already own and use the deals we’re recommending. Our recommendations may also be based on our own testing, along with extensive research and comparison shopping.

The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter.

What Samsung October Prime Day deals are available?

Discounts on Samsung devices and home appliances usually appear a few weeks before Amazon’s sale officially launches, and new deals tend to roll out over the days (or week) of the event. You’ll find discounts on products including smartphones, laptops, smartwatches, TVs, fridges, PCs, and computer hardware, among other categories.

Are Samsung Galaxy phones discounted during October Prime Day?

Yes. We expect deals on everything from entry-level Samsung smartphones to premium, foldable options, and discounts generally come in two forms: dollars off the retail price or free storage upgrades.

Do October Prime Day Samsung deals sell out?

In some cases, yes. Solid deals on smartphones and TVs, especially, tend to vanish quickly and may not reappear during sales events. The lesson? If the discount is strong and the product is on your to-buy list, consider buying it rather than risking your favorite Samsung deal disappearing.

Does Samsung offer its own discounts during October Prime Day?

Yes. You’ll find discounts on Samsung products on Amazon, but you’ll also find them on Samsung’s website, as well as at other US retailers, including Walmart and Best Buy.

Where can I find the best Prime Day deals?

ZDNET editors will be tracking October Prime Day deals during and after the sale. Here are our favorite deals across categories now. If you aren’t a Prime member but want to shop the sale, here’s how to join with a free trial, and ways you might qualify for a big discount (including 6 months free if you’re aged 18-24).
