Federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) raided the Washington, D.C., home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., early Monday morning, a source familiar with the operation told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

EXCLUSIVE: The home of Rep. Ilhan Omar<\/a>, D-Minn, was raided early Monday morning by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

Multiple federal agents with HSI jackets<\/a> were seen outside Omar’s Washington, D.C. home in the early hours of Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.<\/p>\n

The raid of the Somali-born congresswoman’s home started around 6 a.m. with HSI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leading the operation. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is also involved in the investigation.<\/p>\n

“Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The DOJ later added that the investigation was “criminal” in nature.<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to a spokesperson for Omar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Border czar Tom Homan\u00a0said in mid-September<\/a> that the progressive congresswoman was subject to an ongoing “criminal” investigation.<\/p>\n

HSI is the principal investigative arm of DHS. Its scope includes investigating cross-border crime and global threats, including human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, drug smuggling and cybercrime. HSI plays a major front-line role in America\u2019s counterterrorism operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Omar has been under fire for months, most recently for her financial disclosures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2024, the congresswoman reported that her husband possessed between $6 million and $30 million in assets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A more recent 2025 financial disclosure report shows Omar\u2019s revised value of shared assets between her and husband to sit at a maximum of $125,000 \u2014 a multimillion-dollar drop from the year prior, a difference of about 29.9 million. The lower estimate of their assets, $20,000, compared to the low and high debt estimates, $30,000 and $100,000, would imply the Minnesota Democrat could have a negative net worth.<\/p>\n

Both she and her husband have separate debts, each ranging somewhere between $15,000 and $50,000 \u2014 from her own student loans and her husband\u2019s credit card debt, according to the disclosures.<\/p>\n

Omar has repeatedly refused to clarify the disclosures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During her tenure in Congress, she has been plagued by allegations that she married her brother in 2009 in an alleged immigration fraud scheme.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A federal prosecutor recently told Fox News Digital that the statute of limitations could hinder an investigation into that matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
