Emory University\u2019s Esther Jung, Washington-St. Louis\u2019 Jessy Young, and Randolph-Macon\u2019s Morgan Mussatt, shared of the lead following the first round of the second annual Hollins Cup at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz on Monday.<\/p>\n

The 36-hole tournament, featuring some the nation\u2019s top NCAA Division III women\u2019s programs, concludes Tuesday. Action continues at noon.<\/p>\n

Jung, Young, and Mussatt each shot even-par 72 in the opening round, but their rounds featured some ups and downs.<\/p>\n

Jung\u2019s round included six birdies, three bogeys, and a triple bogey-6 on hole No. 8. Young carded four birdies, one bogey, and a triple bogey-8 on hole, and No. 6. Mussatt shot three birdies and three bogeys.<\/p>\n

Emory\u2019s Amanda Zheng, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps\u2019 Katherine Keith, and Washington and Lee\u2019s Toral Bhatt are tied for fourth at 1-over-par 73.<\/p>\n

UC Santa Cruz\u2019s Adeline Truong, Washington-St. Louis\u2019 Nicole McGuire, and Emory\u2019s Zimo Li are tied for seventh at 3-over 75.<\/p>\n

Washington-St. Louis\u2019 Eliza Meltzer, and UCSC\u2019s Jocelyn Choi and Samantha Shaw are tied for 10th at 4-over 76.<\/p>\n

Defending champion Carys Code, a senior at Emory, is tied for 17th after firing 78.<\/p>\n

No. 1 ranked Emory, the two-time defending NCAA D-III champion, leads the 13-team tournament with a 10-over 298 total.<\/p>\n

No. 4 Washington-St. Louis is second at 12 over, and No. 6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is third at 19 over. No. 19 UCSC is fourth at 21 over and No. 2 Carnegie Mellon is fifth at 25 over.<\/p>\n

At King City 35, Pajaro Valley 0: The Grizzlies dropped to third place in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division after losing to the division leading Mustangs on Monday.<\/p>\n

King City improved to 12-7 overall, 17-1 league.<\/p>\n

Pajaro Valley (8-6, 5-3) hosts Soledad (6-9, 3-4) on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

North Salinas at Watsonville: The Wildcatz\u2019s PCAL Mission Division home game against the Vikings was rescheduled for Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Watsonville (11-2, 5-2) is in second place with five games left in its regular season and the Vikings (2-8, 2-5) are in fifth place.<\/p>\n
