Actor RJ Mitte, known for playing Walter White\u2019s son in the hit series \u201cBreaking Bad<\/a>,\u201d and an advocate for people with disabilities, died on Monday. He was 34.<\/p>\n

According to the Brownsville Police Department, authorities received a call at about 12:50 p.m. CT. Officers responding to Mitte\u2019s home in the South Texas city found Mitte dead, People<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

Texas Justice of the Peace Judge Cyndi Hinojosa also confirmed with NBC News<\/a> that Mitte died. She said that Mitte\u2019s body was found at 1:32 p.m. CT, but added that she could not provide a cause of death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cause and manner of death are still pending, as there is currently an ongoing investigation,\u201d the Brownsville Police Department said in a statement, according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,\u201d the actor\u2019s representatives said in a statement. \u201cDrawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for the actor later confirmed to Variety<\/a> that Mitte\u2019s cause of death was suicide.<\/p>\n

TMZ<\/a>, citing a \u201claw enforcement\u201d source, also listed suicide as the cause.<\/p>\n

Mitte appeared in all five seasons of \u201cBreaking Bad<\/a>,\u201d which ran from 2008 to 2013, CNN<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

Like his \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d character, Mitte had cerebral palsy, according to Variety<\/a>. The show earned 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, and received 58 total nominations across several platforms.<\/p>\n

He played the son of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Skyler White (Anna Gunn), People<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in deep despair as I write this tonight,\u201d Cranston wrote in an Instagram post. \u201cRJ Mitte, my sweet son on Breaking Bad has died. I met him when he was only 14 years old when he was cast as Walter White Jr., a part he played with such joy and enthusiasm. Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never — ever — allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll miss you, son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryan Cranston has written a tribute for his \u2018Breaking Bad\u2019 on-screen son RJ Mitte who tragically passed away due to suicide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were texting each other just a few weeks ago – figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don’t know if that lunch would have changed his future… But I do know that I loved him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman on \u201cBreaking Bad,\u201d said in a statement that he was \u201cat a loss,\u201d according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed,\u201d Paul said. \u201cAnd to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dean Norris, who played Hank Schrader, Mitte\u2019s uncle in \u201cBreaking Bad,\u201d also remembered the actor in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough RJ didn\u2019t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed,\u201d Norris said. \u201cThis is so heartbreaking, I can\u2019t believe it. Thinking of him and his family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mitte\u2019s other acting credits include \u201cSwitched at Birth,\u201d \u201cThe Oak Room,\u201d \u201cThe Recall,\u201d \u201cWesthamption\u201d and \u201cTalking to Strangers,\u201d \u201cToday<\/a>\u201d reported.<\/p>\n

He also appeared in short films including \u201cStump\u201d and \u201cWeird Science 2: Strange Chemistry,\u201d as well as the movie \u201cHouse of Last Things,\u201d according to Variety<\/a> <\/p>\n

Roy Frank Mitte III was born on Aug. 21, 1992, in Lafayette, Louisiana, according to IMDb.com<\/a>. He moved to California with his family in 2006, and after dabbling in commercials, began landing several acting roles before earning his signature role on \u201cBreaking Bad.\u201d<\/p>\n
