New video shows a crash between a Massachusetts State Police cruiser and Brockton Mayor Moises Rodrigues <\/a>months before he took office.<\/p>\n

In May 2025, Rodrigues, who was Brockton’s city council president at the time, was driving on Route 138 in Raynham.<\/p>\n

The video obtained by NewsCenter 5 shows the cruiser making a left turn into a gas station as Rodrigues’s vehicle is driving by.<\/p>\n

The two vehicles collide, causing heavy front-end damage. The trooper involved sustained minor injuries, according to a state police report.<\/p>\n

Rodrigues claimed the cruiser was at fault and is suing the state for the “severe, painful and disabling physical and emotional injuries” caused during the collision.<\/p>\n

According to Rodrigues’s lawsuit, medical costs from the crash exceeded $32,000.<\/p>\n

Court records show previous attempts to settle the case have failed. <\/p>\n
