(KGO) &#8212; The Hercules Police Department is advising residents to remain alert following confirmed mountain lion sightings in a neighborhood near Hercules Avenue Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Authorities recommend keeping a safe distance from any mountain lion and never attempting to approach, follow or photograph the animal at close range.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Mountain lions are native to California, and wildlife officials say encounters with people are uncommon.
